A witching time of night…

‘Tis now the very witching time of night,
When churchyards yawn and hell itself breathes out
Contagion to this world.’

~William Shakespeare

Hope you all have a spooky, creepy, chillingly scary Halloween!

Behind the scenes…

If you’ve tried photographing children, you know it sometimes takes a village. Brandon, the dad, got in on the action here. His antics had everyone in hysterics. Maya Meyers, who was shooting with us on this day, captured what may be my favorite behind the scenes photo ever!

A whole mystery…

“A man gives many question marks, however, a woman is a whole mystery.”

Inspired by…

Those of you who know me, know I love to bake. My idea of a relaxing Sunday is poring over cook books and whipping up batches of chocolate chip cookies or cupcakes. Up until recently my desserts while tasty, were not about to win any beauty prizes but all that changed after my cake decorating classes at Cake Crumbs in Encino.

The skills I learned at Cake Crumbs have given me new confidence in the kitchen. I’m finding inspiration for my little cakes everywhere – in this case in my favorite flannel p.j.s!

If I’m in need of taking a break from editing images at the computer, I’ll steal away to the kitchen to roll out some gum paste for a decorative flower or two.

I’ve heard the secret to staying young is to keep learning and challenging yourself with new experiences. My mind is definitely expanding – now I have to make sure my waistline doesn’t follow suit!

Pink & Cream

I usually flip over bold bright colors but there is something so elegant and lovely about pink and cream. This palette is understated and unusual. In my opinion, it’s perfect for a wedding celebration.

Beautiful boys…

I know boys aren’t typically described as beautiful – words like handsome and cute are usually employed but Dylan and his little brother Rhys can only be described as beautiful. Maybe it’s the golden color of their skin or their velvety brown eyes fringed in ridiculously long lashes that make them so adorable or maybe it’s the way Dylan kept referring to peacocks as “peahawks” while Rhys would puff out his pudgy cheeks and exclaim, “uh oh!” when one would approach. There are so many things that make these two little characters beautiful but I’m going to let you see for yourself. Below is a link to a video slide show we created of a recent photo shoot with the boys, their parents, aunt and grandparents.

Enjoy!
