Teavana Giveaway!

In these wintry months, nothing soothes and refreshes like a steaming cup of tea. We all know by now the many benefits of drinking it. All those antioxidants keep our immune system in check and studies have shown that drinking tea can help control the free radicals that can lead to heart disease and cancer. A more surprising fact however, is that it's a rich source of flouride. In fact, green tea has more flouride than flouridated water. Who knew?? So in addition to doing good things for your insides, brewing a cuppa can do wonders for your smile too.
Because I want you to start off the new year in the best of health, I am giving away this wonderful Classic One Cup Infuser from Teavana. I recently bought one of these for myself and loved it so much, I thought you might like one too. What makes it really great is that the openings are teeny tiny - virtually no leafy parts or stems can get through. If you're like me, you love loose tea but hate the twiggy bits that can escape a traditional strainer.
If you would like a chance to win this infuser, share with me your favorite way to enjoy tea in the comment section. I'll choose a winner on Thursday. One entry per person please. Don't leave an anonymous comment and only folks living in the continental U.S. will be eligible. It's not that I don't love you, readers in other lands, it's just a shipping thing.

My favorite tea is white tea. Something about it is so wonderfully palatable. I like taking out my tea pot (even if it's just for me) and my favorite oversized mug. I sit on my couch, tucked up with my three year old who clinks her glass against mine with a super enthusiastic "Cheers." Nothing beats it.
My favorite is to brew up some tea with spices, then cool it off and do something ridiculous with it like infusing it into cold milk and make ice cream with it! That probably cancels out all the health benefits, but it tastes real good.
I'm in Southern California so this isn't the strangest way to enjoy a cup of tea in winter: sun tea. It reminds me of good times when I was a kid playing in the yard while the jug brewed in the background. And just as I was then, I'm lazy so the notion that the sun made me a glass of tea makes it even more enjoyable.
Being English I drink a lot of tea each day, and my Californian friends know I even bring some with me when I visit! To pick a favourite way to enjoy it is quite tricky, however, a cream tea served by my dear friend Mary on a summer’s afternoon in her delightful garden is hard to beat. She brews a pot of black Gunpowder tea, or sometimes a mixture of English breakfast and Lapsang Souchong and allows it to brew long enough to be good and strong, but not long enough to ‘stew’. Served in a cup and saucer with a dash of milk and accompanied by a plain scone with butter, lashings of clotted cream and homemade strawberry jam. The combination of gently smoky tea, scone, cream and jam were simply made for each other! It really doesn’t get much better in my humble opinion.
Steve, you can't see me, but I'm drooling...
To take the stress off at work, I bring my tea set with me! Just my loose leaf tea, my favorite mug (with little black cats all over it), and an awkward little mesh strainer.
It's like bringing home to the office and the fragrance it creates while steeping is wonderful. :)
And to cope with office place madness, I drink a fantastic mix that has ginseng (for energy), St. Johns Wort (for stress and anxiety), rooibos, apples, lemongrass, cinnamon, and other lovely fruits and herbs.
I love sipping green tea curled up on the couch while watching true crime shows!
This holiday I went on a truffle-making frenzy for DIY holiday gifts.
One of my flavors was a chai chocolate truffle. I seeped the tea in warmed cream (thus giving the flavor into the cream) and then used that cream to melt the chocolate/make truffles.
It was pretty awesome, and a really interesting idea. You can use this method to flavor the cream with all sorts of herbs and spices!
Jennifer, what a great idea! Don't be surprised if you see my version of your truffles on the blog one of these days! ;)
I know just what you mean Eileen. I think I love the ritual of making tea more than actually drinking it.
I will certainly keep an eye out Isabel. I love trying new recipes (even if they're similar to ones I made before!).
I love drinking tea while curled up on the coach reading a good book. Tea taste so much better when I am kid-free and relaxed!
