A Father’s Day tribute
I spend so much time photographing and writing about other families on this blog. With today being Father’s Day, I thought it only right to put the spotlight on my own Dad.
Even though he is well into his 80s, he is still the most vibrant, curious person I know. He is quick to laugh and always has a kind word to say about everyone.
Growing up, he filled our household with music. He was and is a wonderful musician, and composer.
He instilled in me a love of travel and the natural world. He taught me to see beauty in the every-day; an attribute that has not only enhanced my professional life but enriched my personal one as well.
His energy is boundless. He’s always ready to help anyone in need and is up for any adventure. In this photo, we had been up since dawn photographing in Yellowstone. As usual, he attacked our little photo expedition with tremendous gusto and verve.
Dad, if you’re reading this today, I’m sorry I can’t celebrate Father’s Day with you in person. But please know that you are in my heart on this and everyday.
