We always get excited when clients mention they are including their pets in their wedding celebration. As major animal lovers, Larry and I not only enjoy being around dogs but we also love photographing them. In this case however, the significance of having Bodhi the lovable husky and Bentley the gorgeous ridgeback in the wedding photos was especially meaningful. Susan and Dan would never have met and fallen in love if they hadn’t taken their beloved babies to the same dog park. Yes, folks that is what we call “meeting cute”!
Our coverage of Susan and Dan’s big day began in their beautiful home in Venice Beach. Golden light poured in everywhere and floor to ceiling retractable doors melded the garden and living spaces together. It was truly a pleasure working in that wonderful environment.
Then it was onto the very hip and photogenic Santa Monica restaurant, Zengo for an impromptu, fun ceremony and lots of great food and dancing.

Susan and Dan, thanks so much for including us in your wonderful day. You and your families were so welcoming and warm. We hope you love the photos and that we get more opportunities to photograph you and your adorable “children”!

I love this time of year. Not only because of the wonderful holidays that are on the horizon but because we get to catch up and revisit with some of our favorite clients.
We’ve been photographing the Lakdawalla family for 3 years now and each time we see them, Larry and I are amazed and so impressed with these girls. Yes, they are utterly adorable but what you don’t see in these pictures is how sweet, polite, bright and incredibly charming they are.
Whenever I mention this to their mom, she’ll humbly shrug it off as if she and her husband didn’t have much to do with it but it’s so evident that they are incredible parents. Spending time with all of them is really something we look forward to all year!
“Beauty and grace are performed whether or not we sense them. The least we can do is try to be there.”
~Annie Dillard

Sometimes it takes leaving a place and returning older and wiser to realize how special it is. On a recent trip to my childhood home of Massachusetts, I cajoled my father (actually it didn’t take much prodding on my part, he’s always up for an adventure) into stealing away for a couple of hours and visiting Walden Pond in Concord with me.
It was one of those perfect Autumn days; warm but with a slight nip in the air, the foliage putting on an over the top colorful show for us. It was the kind of day that could make a girl forget for a moment the miseries of New England’s never-ending winter and actually consider moving back. But then the reality of being middle-aged and shoveling snow for months on end brought me back to reality. But I digress… the point here is I got to spend a glorious afternoon with my Dad in this ridiculously beautiful place and I just had to share it with you.
I’m posting more images on our Facebook page. Please take a look and if you haven’t already, it would be most appreciated if you would “Like” us.
Thanks and I hope you take time to enjoy the beauty of where you live this weekend!
While everyone will be admiring your wedding gown, flowers and fabulous jewelry, only you (and eventually your new husband) will know what lies beneath.

‘Tis now the very witching time of night,
When churchyards yawn and hell itself breathes out
Contagion to this world.’
~William Shakespeare
Hope you all have a spooky, creepy, chillingly scary Halloween!
