Larry and I have been looking forward to Rod and Heidi’s wedding for months. I will fully admit that up until we did this engagement session, a huge reason for our excitement, came from the fact that their wedding is going to take place in Hawaii. Now that we got to spend an afternoon with them however, we’ve come to realize that even if they were getting married in a landfill, we would be equally jazzed.
Heidi is the kind of girl who while looking utterly stunning, will kick off her shoes and roll around on the grass if that’s what it takes to get a great image and you’ve got to love a guy who suggests that a romp in a fountain would make for a killer shot. If not for the watchful eye of Getty security, some serious splashing and cavorting would have ensued. Their joyous sense of adventure coupled with incredible chemistry made for a ridiculously easy not to mention really really fun engagement session.
Rod and Heidi, we are so pleased that Julie Pryor of Pryor Events brought us together. We are practically jumping out of skins at the thought of photographing you again in Kauai. We hope you love these photographs and look forward to our future collaborations!
” It is not necessarily those lands which are the most fertile or most favored climate that seem to me the happiest, but those in which a long stroke of adaptation between man and his environment has brought out the best qualities of both.”

Happy Earth Day everyone! Be kind to it and remember what you do in your corner of the world reverberates everywhere.
We are so excited to be featured on Grace Ormonde’s beautiful website!
Sonya and Douglas’ gorgeous wedding was such a joy to photograph. In case you’re wondering what is up with the gargoyle, the happy couple tied the knot in their home, which also happens to be the former residence of Bela Lugosi. Sonya and Douglas had an intimate ceremony in their living room and feted family and close friends under the stars on their patio. The festivities did not end there however, at the witching hour, everyone donned costumes and headed over to Citizen Smith in Hollywood for a huge blowout masquerade party where they were joined by an additional 100 beautifully bedecked guests.
The amazing florals were created by the insanely talented Kate Holt of Flowerwild and Rebecca Stone of Duet Weddings coordinated not one but two sensational events that evening. Rebecca never ceases to amaze me with her creativity and style. Her weddings are always brimming with wonderful, special details and her calm, soothing demeanor puts everyone at ease.
There lots more to see at Grace Ormonde including the adorable story of how Sonya and Douglas met. Enjoy!

I hope you have time to enjoy this beautiful day. Happy Friday everyone!
We’ve seen a lot of changes in Lincoln over the past year and a half. It’s hard to believe this independent, funny little fire ball was ever the sleepy, chubby baby we met a year and half ago.
Lincoln’s parents belong to our Photo Friends Club and are on their way to earning a free photo shoot! The program works like this: with each progressive session, you receive a 10% discount on the sitting fee, making your tenth session on us. There is no upfront charge, and you’re not obligated to a certain number of shoots. You also have 2 years in which to reach your goal. We recommend you schedule your sessions every 3 months or so, that way we’ll be there to capture all those wonderful moments.
If you would like to join our Photo Friends Club, contact us at the studio. In the meantime, feast your eyes on the adorableness above!
