Today’s blog post is really special to me. Larry and I have been photographing this wonderful couple since they were wed 9 years ago. Each year, they mark their anniversary with an Isabel Lawrence photo shoot. We have done these sessions all over California and last year, even had the privilege of photographing them in Hawaii!
While I figured that shoot would be impossible to top, this one has proven to be my favorite. This year, the newest member of the family plays a starring role and he could not be more adorable.

Meet Jazz. Here, he takes a moment to compose himself before his photo shoot.

As you can see, he is brimming with personality!

We were blessed with a gloriously beautiful afternoon for our session.

Yup, I’m going on record as declaring this my favorite session. I know I say this every year, but this one will be hard to beat.

It’s always a thrill to have one of our weddings selected for publication. With the tremendous amount of truly great wedding photography being produced today, it’s especially gratifying to know that something we created, is deemed worthy of sharing.
Amanda and Max’s beautiful wedding is featured on California Wedding Day’s website and we couldn’t be more excited! The special event took place at one of our favorite venues, The Ojai Valley Inn & Spa. XoXo Bride Events ensured the day went off perfectly.

Amanda was one of the prettiest brides we’ve ever photographed. Her beauty is positively luminous.

Max reminded me of a movie star from the 1950’s. He has such great sartorial style!

One of the many advantages of having a large bridal party, is that there are lots of ladies to fawn over you.

Is it any wonder this wedding was chosen to be published? Look at these two…they are ridiculously gorgeous.

There are so many pretty spots in which to photograph at the inn.

Amanda’s adorable nephew needed a helping hand from his mom getting down the aisle.

Have I mentioned how much I love the Ojai Valley Inn? It’s stunning at all times of the day.

Yes, that is a crystal chandelier hanging from a tree branch. In fact, there were several creating an opulent setting.

How do you treat your guests to a destination wedding without asking them to update their passports? Start by hosting them at a gorgeously exotic venue like Korakia Pensione in Palm Springs.

Lorissa and Eric are two of the most creative people we’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing and we are so thrilled that Style Me Pretty chose to feature their fabulous fete!

Their Moroccan themed wedding was a delight to photograph. It was posh while embracing simple, earthy elements. For instance, the centerpieces and lighting that Arrangements Floral Design created were simply out of this world, while the rustic mismatched chairs and wooden tables were reminiscent of a backyard gathering, albeit a very chic one!

Fez hats awaited the gentlemen and the ladies were treated to pashminas and tangerines, a subtle and witty nod to the city of Tangiers.

Individual cheesecakes from Exquisite Desserts stood in for the standard wedding cake and the flower girl basket was filled with blooms from bougainvillea plucked from the property (with permission of course).

I could go and on about this fantastic wedding, (don’t even get me started on the beautiful children in attendance and Eric’s gorgeous daughters who acted as bridesmaids) but I’ll let you head on over to Style Me Pretty for lots more photos and words from Lorissa herself.

Sometimes finding the perfect color palette for your wedding is as easy as looking in your backyard, or in this case, the grounds of the gorgeous Ojai Valley Inn and Spa. This bed of wildflowers served as inspiration for this lovely wedding produced by Julie Pryor of Pryor Events.

Deep purples and silvery greens made for a luscious combination in these gorgeous hanging baskets created by The Hidden Garden.

Sometimes simple is best. Never underestimate the power of a single bloom. This bouquet of Calla Lilies was so pretty and very elegant. The flower girls’ baskets were simple too in that they were adorned only with a wide satin ribbon.

Here is a close-up of the hanging baskets that served as aisle runners.

This was one of my favorite details. I loved the contrast of the fancy plate with humble sprigs. Juxtapositions like this are not only great to photograph, they are a delightful surprise for your guests.

Classic black bride’s maids dresses really allowed the flowers to pop!

Larry and I really enjoyed documenting this wedding. In addition to a wonderful, gorgeous couple, there were lots of adorable children to photograph. Stephanie and Andres both have kids so this charming wedding was all about the coming together of this new little family.

The setting was the stunning, La Quinta Resort & Club and Cathy and Dorry of Celebrations of Joy, brought their usual panache and style to the event.
